Challenge
We were assigned the design and implementation of the production of the last and more intimate part for the Nike Zoom Freak1 Launch, as the Sepolia court and neighbourhood became the temple of appreciation and celebration of Giannis’ success story, as the Birthplace of Dreams.
The overall set design was inspired by the urban atmosphere of the Sepolia neighbourhood and the materials used inside and outside the court, keeping the authenticity of the Athenian vibe.
The starting point of the experience, was an impressive gate build with scaffolding installations, hosting Giannis’ lifetime story, paving the way inside the ultimate street party.
A combination of LED screen installations at the perimeter of the streets, was generating content from the campaign and live feed from the activities, enhancing the overall experience. While foodtrucks offered to the audience treats and soft drinks.
The final step of this experience took place inside the court. An authentic celebration by Giannis, dedicated to his neighbourhood and kids who participated in the 3X3 tournaments, passing his knowledge to the new generation of athletes, rewarding the winners of the tournaments, presenting his first NIKE apparel campaign along with the Antetokounbros Academy and courts refurbishment.
This experience was supported not only by an impressive yet minimal set design, but also with an immersive light show throughout the flow of the event. 3 LED screens were installed at the 3 sides of the court, generating content while interacting with the screens outside the court. The DJ booth was one of the prominent & vivid elements of the set, with lights at the backside & the facade of the installation, always transforming following the tunes of the music.
Finally, after the completion of the Olympus screening and Giannis’ announcement as the MVP 2019, all guests filled the court partying with Giannis’ favourite artists, family and friends, celebrating the new chapter of his life beginning again at the same point where he started.
