In December 2019, the Onassis Foundation invited some of the most esteemed people in politics and health in Greece for the groundbreaking ceremony of the Onassis National Transplant Centre (ONTRC).
The ONTRC is the latest and most ambitious initiative of the Foundation regarding healthcare, a brand new hospital that will transform the field of transplant surgeries in Greece and the general area of South-East Mediterranean.
We were asked to design and produce a state-of-the-art ceremony on the lot where the hospital will be built.
Two hundred guests were accommodated inside a glass tent that overlooked the Onassis Cardiac Surgery Centre and Syggrou Ave. A simple stage was constructed and HD LED Screens surrounded the single podium from the ground up.
All video material was created to unite all the screens to function as one.
The key action we had to think and implement was the symbolic gesture of the groundbreaking by the Greek Prime Minister, the Minister of Health, the President of the Foundation and the President of the Onassis Cardiac Surgery Centre.
The idea was simple and came to symbolise their commitment towards the new hospital. The four stakeholders were asked to put their signature digitally on tablets. Through an animated sequence these signatures were combined in order to initiate the construction of the hospital.
