Its the sixth consecutive re-assignment we get for this project in order to design, organize, produce and execute the overall set design, production and technical set up of the forum in collaboration with Tsomokos Communications agency and organized by the Democracy & Cultural Foundation in association with the New York Times.
ADF 2022 was a physical and an online event combination. The theme for 2022, “A Decade of Democracy: What Now?”, explores setbacks democracies have faced after what looked like good news from many corners of the world a decade ago.
The Forum, brought together innovative approaches to overcome the challenges facing democracy with significant youth participation and attendance across the sessions.
The Forum welcomed interventions from significant global figures including the 8th United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon (physically), the President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen (physically), Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky (virtually) and other political and bussiness leaders and experts that managed to define, assess and tackle some of the critical questions about the world at this moment.
The inauguration of the ADF forum took place at Zappeion Megaron on the 27th of September, with an opening discussion and a documentary viewing on a high definition LED screen placed at the Atrium of Zappeion. The forum officially kicked off on September 28, with an opening speech by the president of Hellenic Parliament, Katerina Sakellaropoulou and ended on September 30th.
Multiple locations were set up to host the event including the Zappeion Halls, Stoa of Attalos and premises of Academy of Athens, offering remarkable discussion panels, debates, workshops, sponsored lunches and art exhibitions; an overall outstanding experience for all participants.
